In he was sent to one-year rigorous imprisonment by British government. He became the delegate of All-India Congress Committee in the year He was also arrested during Quit India Movement for his participation.
After Independence, he emerged as a prominent leader of farmers. He has also played his part in the formation of independent Haryana state.
